Care Certificate

Person Centred Care (PCC)

Description
This course is aimed at those who care or support others to deliver person centred care where people and their families are at the centre of any care and support decisions or interventions.

Allowing choice and active participation is key to providing quality care for each person. The person-centred care approach gives people more choice and control in their lives by providing an approach that is appropriate to the individual's needs.

Person centred care forms part of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and forms part of the CQC inspection. Regulation 9 - The intention of this regulation is to make sure that people using a service have care or treatment that is personalised specifically for them. This regulation is supported by regulation 18 where providers must provide sufficient numbers of suitably qualified, competent, skilled and experienced staff to meet the needs of the people using the service at all times.

This course explores the best methods to promote person centred care with practical examples which can be easily embedded into your day to day practice.
