Sepsis Awareness (SEPAWA)

Description
This course is aimed at all those who are in a position to identify and manage sepsis.

Sepsis is a treatable condition and yet kills 5 people every hour in the UK and affects 25,000 children annually in the UK (The UK Sepsis Trust 2019).

Sepsis can initially look like a common condition, such as flu, gastroenteritis or a chest infection and yet can rapidly progress to a life-threatening and overwhelming condition causing organ failure and death.

This course shares common conditions that can precipitate Sepsis, the signs and symptoms of it and how it can be treated for individuals and how greater awareness can therefore lead to a reduction in its incidents.
